"New day, a new beginning, and the new way of enjoying life with our love ones..." A melodious voice resounded and a smile crept on my lips waking me from my sleep.

Every day I wake up listening to this voice and at the same time my eyes flew open. Say it my instinct or whatnot but I don't need the alarm clock. Hehe...my granny voice is just so powerful to even wake me up from the deep slumber.

I heard faint footsteps outside my bedroom and a minute later it faded away giving me the cue to leave my bed. My grandmother lives in the room next to mine and she wakes up at sharp 6 o'clock mumbling her favorite song, which happens to be my wake my song.

I usually left a small gap on my door as the door needs extra force to pull open so her voice will easily enter my room. She is your typical grandmother but with extra sweetness. She is strict sometimes but most of the time she is childish making our boring life lighten up.

Me and my brother Syong are her favorite grandchild or maybe because we are the children of her only son. But she is the dearest person in my heart since childhood till now. My best buddy and my secret keeper.

Whenever I would break my mom's heels while playing during my childhood, she would always cover up for me saving me from my mom's wrath.

Recalling those sweet memories and shaking my head with a foolish smile I walk to the bathroom to get ready for the new day. I brush my teeth with the mint fragrance toothpaste and scrub my face with the cherry flavor facewash. Then I wipe my face with the towel and walk to the room to look for my mobile.

I unplug the charger from the mobile and press my thumb finger to unlock my mobile. I scroll through the Nigel Hospital forum to check out the latest news and after reading some feeds I lock the mobile walking out of the room in my floral print pajama.

The minute I step out of my room, I saw my brother Syong in sport attire with sweat dripping on his face indicating that he has just come from his morning run and I scrunch my face looking at my hardworking younger brother. He was about to pass by me but somehow, he saw me standing on my doorstep and gave me a devilish grin.

That grin startles me and I know what's coming next but like most of the time I was late on pushing that damn door and that devil back hugs me smearing his sweat all over my pajama.

"Syong!" I yell gritting my teeth and the devil giggles making me annoyed to death.

Luckily, I haven't had the shower yet otherwise I would have to waste my time showering for the second time today. I broke free from his tight grip and before I could shout more, he sprinted to his room laughing like the maniac.

I glare at his closed door and push open the door sprinting towards the bathroom to take the shower. I was planning to have some breakfast and them dress up for the day but that brother of mine spoil my plan. It's not every day that I get to wake up in my warm bed and have the homemade breakfast chatting with my loved ones as other days I would be busy serving the patients in the hospital.

Well, being a surgeon have its share of the good and the bad side. Most of the time would be spent in the hospital and only a few weekends will be spent enjoying with our family and friends. Today is the weekend and my dad and brother are free to enjoy it but the poor me need to report to work.

After showering I put on the robe and rub my hair with the towel then dried it with the hairdryer. Then I walk to the closet to put on the blouse and the boyfriend jeans pairing them with the white sneakers. I comb my waist-length hair letting it free and apply the nude lipstick on my lips matching it with Gucci's watch. With a once-over look at the mirror, I pick up my mobile from the side table shoving it into my jeans pocket and walk out of the room.

I hear voices coming from the kitchen and my stomach growl making me take a large stride. I saw my brother walking along with me and I humph walking to the dining table. Granny was seating at the head seat with my dad at the left side and mom at the right with two chairs left vacant for my brother and me.

"Good morning Granny, dad, and mom." I greeted taking the seat beside my dad and Syong too sat down greeting our elders.

"Morning." Dad replied as usual slicing the pancake and mom nodded passing the plate of toast to me.

"Good morning choco." An energetic yet extra sweet voice greeted me after few seconds and that voice belongs to my sweet granny who is busying munching on the pancake. And that extra sweetness is for the cover-up for her habit of forgetting to take her medicine.

I shake my head glancing at my mom and she nodded confirming my guess. My granny is 70 years old now and she is diagnosed to have high blood pressure causing her to have an attack once when my grandpa left the earth so we are worried that it would act up when not taken proper medication.

We have lost grandpa five years ago and we don't want to lose her so we especially me being the doctor became more concerned about it. Being a doctor, I see people dying every day yet I don't want that person to be one of my loved ones. It's really difficult to cope with their death and I'm afraid of losing her.

"It's just five minutes late choco. Your mother knows better to feed me that bitter thing." Granny scrunch her nose looking at my mother and we all broke into the fit of laughter.

Granny tried hard to be the strict mother-in-law but till now she couldn't fulfill her wish. My mother knows how much granny loves her and cares for her so she didn't mind the childish criticism of granny. She has been listening to it for almost 27 years and would be for years to come.

"Granny, you know that bitter thing is for good health so please take it on time." I reminded professionally as if talking to my patient and granny grimaced nodding her head in approval.

After 10 minutes we all finished eating our breakfast and I walk out the door to the elevator bidding goodbye to my family members. I had just walked towards the elevator when the door open and Mr. Carlos walk out with his dog Freed staling behind him.

"Come on boy, walk out." Jack Carlos scowled looking at his stubborn dog and I chuckle seeing their usual interaction. Freed has been with Jack for almost five years and Jack being our next-door neighbor I'm quite familiar with Freed's antics.

"Freed!" I squeal gaining its attention and it walks out jumping in front of me. I laugh bending down to rub its head and it waggles its tail sitting like an obedient dog.

"You naughty boy." Jack scolded with a shake of his head and press the elevator button for me.

"Thank you." I smiled at Jack passing the Freed's belt and he nodded in acknowledgment.

The elevator door closed up once I enter and then my mobile rang up making me pull it out from my jeans pocket. I touch the green button to accept the call and I was greeted with a tiresome voice.

"Morning Choco!" Bella, my BFF since grade 4 voice came out.

"Morning Bell! You're on the way to home?" I smiled at Cherry who lived on the 3rd floor and there were already five people in the elevator.

"Yup. I'm feeling damn sleepy. I don't think I could drive back." Bell yawn and I heard the honking of the bell at the other end.

"Oh! Then you have a ride now, do we?" I teased imagining her half-dazed scrunched up face.

"Umm...there is someone named Alex. He wants to provide free service." I hear footsteps approaching her and thought that Alex moves too fast.

They had met three days ago in the orthopedic ward when Alex's sister was admitted and now, they are close enough to provide the so-called free service.

"Free service? Then he would be happy during the night or maybe day. Anyways have some rest and don't dive in too deep." I said in a double-meaning showing my dissatisfaction.

"Okay, choco. I will remember that and got to go now. Alex is here and he seems to be in a daze looking at my utterly tired appearance." She whispered the last part making me roll my eyes and then the elevator door opened at the parking area.

I walk to my car unlocking it and enter into the driving seat. "Oh! Then use your charm to captivate him. And Bell I will see you tomorrow. Bye for now."

Bell ended the call with a short bye and I put my mobile in the dashboard not forgetting to look at the time. I've nothing major appointment today but still, I like to always arrive on time. It's a 40-minute drive to the hospital but sometimes it might take an hour so I need to hurry up now.

I fastened my seat belt after locking the car door and ignite the engine hitting the road. Almost 45 -minutes later I parked my car in the hospital parking lot and walk out of the car looking at the building I've worked for four years.

At its top Nigel Hospital huge signboard was alighted screaming its elegance and excellency. It's the top hospital where mostly rich people would be admitted due to its highly tight security and better service. I was fortunate to be recommended by my university professor for the internship and due to my outstanding work, I was then appointed as one of the permanent doctors.

Here, most of the doctors are from renowned family leaving few, including me with an average household. Although discrimination is absolute taboo here but some are there who couldn't forget their bad habits easily making others feel someone's bitterness.

"Doctor Shalifa. Good morning." A voice greeted me making me look at the right and the head nurse Nina gave me a polite smile.

"Good Morning Nurse Nina." I greeted with respect to the 40 something head nurse and suddenly a chopper landed on the top of the VIP ward indicating the emergency.

4 or 5 BMW came in high speed halting in front of the VIP ward and men in black suits walked out scaring the hell out of the passer-by. From the commotion, it's clear that the injured person is someone renowned and powerful.

"We should hurry doctor." Nurse Nina who was beside me sounded nervous and hastened towards the VIP ward.

When we reached the top floor of the VIP ward, we heard one of the men shouting at the staff outside the room while others were guarding the whole floor and a nurse there came rushing towards Nurse Nina reporting the situation. The men in black were demanding to see Dr. Dakels who is out of the country at the moment and they were fussing over the doctors who were treating the injured person.

I walked inside the room to see four doctors treating the patient and accessing the patient's condition I could tell that he would need an immediate operation. I glared at the idiot of the men who was still arguing and beckon the ward boy.

"Take him to the OT now." My voice boomed startling everyone and they look at me as if I've gone insane.

"No." The same man who was arguing and seemed to be the boss among others shouted glaring furiously at me standing at the doorstep. I wonder who is their employer as the employee has a shitty attitude.

"Why not? The patient situation seems to be critical and if not-" Before I could finish speaking the boss who seems to be in his late thirties stride inside and pushes the ward boy at the side.

I don't know if it was intentional or not but the poor ward boy couldn't withstand the force the man exerted and he stumbled falling on the floor. Nurse Nina rushes to help him get up and I clenched my fist resisting the urge to beat that ignorant bulky man.

"Sir! Please maintain silence and do not cause the scene here. This is the hospital, not the arena." One of the doctors reminded and five of the men who were guarding outside came inside and formed a protective circle around the bed making me take a step back.

"Call Dr. Dakels right away. We've ordered that he can only treat our master." The same man said with a stern face leaving no place for an argument.

"We've already said that he is in Berlin attending the seminar. And even if we call him immediately it will take hours for him to get here." Nurse Nina started trying to put some sense in them.

"Ryan! You heard it right so what does the higher-up say?" The boss asked someone on the other end using the ear-pod adorned on his ear.

The boss listens for few seconds with a serious expression and gazes at the person lying on the bed. "He is severely injured. There is-" I couldn't tolerate watching their childish antics anymore so I move forward pushing the men aside and checked the pulse of the patient.

The person lying on the bed was an old man around 60-year-old who might have to be in a car accident. The doctors have tried their best to stopped the external bleeding but his right leg has been crushed with some heavy metal object and if the operation is not done immediately then the patient might need to amputated his right leg.

And his condition is worsening each passing second which will complicate the surgery further. But his men were adamant to not let other doctors do his surgery. Sometimes being rich makes life even worse and dramatic.

"The patients need immediate operation otherwise he might lose his life." I stated looking directly at the boss's face and his face stiffen when he looked at the person lying on the bed.

"T-hat..." He stammered sounding guilty and seeing him distracted I take out the mobile from his coat.

I don't know where the courage of stealing came from but I know one thing that the patient would die if I don't use this method. Also, I couldn't imagine what the higher-ups are thinking as his decision might cost one's life.

"The patient is in his worst condition so pray for his well-being." I said those words and ended the call without waiting for the other persons' reply.

The man glared snatching the mobile from me and it started ringing immediately. I gave a look to Head Nurse to prepare the OT and the boss who was on the phone call ordered his men to take the patient to the OT.

Unfortunately, the second-best doctor was also not available so the responsibility fell on me. Head Nurse gave me the patient medical history and after going through it I along with four doctors from before operate on him.

The operation took 3 hours in which we were successful to save his right leg but we couldn't be certain when he would gain his consciousness. The shock from the accident and the delay in operation had caused the problem so we shifted him to the I.C.U for the time being.

After the tiresome operation, I went back to my cabinet to freshen up, and then I headed towards the cafeteria which was just down the building to have some lunch. The lunchtime here is not fixed so the cafeteria prepares lunch any time of the day and the doctors do not need to wait longer.

Along the way, I met with Luim full name Luimon Detex, my friend since high school, and a few of my colleagues who were also going to the cafeteria. I wave at them saying hello and then we entered the cafeteria together.

Today the cafeteria was filled with more people than usual and the minute we entered we heard people gossiping about the commotion that happened earlier. We ignored the bustling crowd and walked towards the food counter ordering our usual food.

"Nicholas Reghen, the greatest tycoon of the business world had a car accident near the Reghen empire. Looking at the footage obtained from the surveillance camera his car was crashed against the garbage truck and the car driver died on the spot while protecting his master. The police are investigating the crime scene and we will be heard more about his health condition in the upcoming news." The flat screen at the side flared up which grabbed my attention.

While I was busy looking at the screen someone tapped on my shoulder and I tilt my head to see Luim pointing at the food on the counter. I gave a small laugh hiding my embarrassment and carry the tray of food walking to the table where my colleague had occupied it.

"....Nicholas Reghen has been admitted to our hospital?" Roy one of my colleagues said looking for gossip.

"Reghen, who?" Mia another of my colleague asked looking confused.

"What? You do not know about the Reghens. They literally owned everything and anything and are the most renowned family which have connections all around the world. They are second to the royals and this hospital is also one of theirs." Roy said with excitement and I could see the people from the next table perking theirs ears to listen more.

"Oh! Then the accident?" Mia asked looking quite interested.

"It might be normal for them as the richer the people become the more, they encounter the enemies. Also, I heard there was a scene created by the bodyguards in the VIP ward?" This time Lexi the silent one asked looking directly at me.

I was enjoying my food listening to their gossips when all of them look at me to hear more. I try to act as if I do not know but their expectant gaze made me blurt out.

"The rich are so full of themselves that even their employees are so arrogant. The patient was about to die when they were still waiting for the so call order from the higher ups." I snorted thinking about those stupid bodyguards who only know how to use power rather than their brain.

"What arrogant? They were simply following orders and if they took action, they might lose their job. Working for others is quite a tough job." Roy shakes his head giving us a we-are-victim-we-should-know look and we all burst into laughter.

"So now what happened to the Reghen Empire?" Mia again asked after a moment of silence and our gossip king Roy started again.

"The one who had the accident is the ancestor of the Reghen Empire. There is still the heir left. The grandson of Nicholas Reghen is the one behind the prosperity of the Reghens till now. Reghens has only one heir and the whole empire will belong to him alone." Roy sighed looking dejected and then his mobile chimed indicating an emergency.

Others mobile too chimed and they left hurriedly finishing their food. Luim and I were the only one who was left behind and we finished our food in silent.

After finishing our food, we walk out the door heading towards the emergency ward. Luim had surgery in 2 hours so he left to prepare for the surgery bidding me goodbye and I round off the emergency ward checking out the patients.

I was checking out the last patient when a nurse came to inform me about the patient who was in the ICU. Then I headed towards the VIP ward where Nicholas Reghen was residing.

The entire floor was filled with more bodyguards than before and I feel irritated when they asked for my id before letting me enter the room. I huff once I enter inside and walk straight to the bed to check out the patient's condition when I felt someone presence besides mine.

I halt in my step and look around the room to see a man standing near the window with his back towards me and he seems to be talking on his mobile. The man was wearing a navy blue Armani suit and had a well-built back.

Suddenly he burst out making me startled and I flinched hearing his harsh voice. "The hell you can't? I need the details immediately. Find that fucker at any cost. I paid you for nothing. Better-"

"Mr. please go out. You're disturbing the patient." I snapped regaining my composer and walked to the foot of the bed retrieving the clipboard without sparing a glance at the man whom I had interrupted.

Then there was a moment of silence and I was going through the report when suddenly someone grabbed my left arm and pulled me towards the edge of the room. He then pushed me to the wall behind me and caged me putting both his hand on the wall.

I was startled due to the sudden attack and panicked seeing the attacker's bloodshot eyes. I clenched my fist trying to put a brave facade glaring at the bastard who had lost his mind. How dare he molest the doctor who is on the duty?

"Hey! Mr. What's up to you?" I whisper yelled as not to disturb the patient and that jerk of a person bend his face almost touching mine.

His cologne wafted my nose and I felt uncomfortable being this close to the opposite sex for the first time. I turned my face sideways as I couldn't control my racing heart due to anxiety and fear and I heard him chuckle seeing me scared.

"What did you just say?" He whispers near my ear and his breath fanned on my left cheek making me shiver.

I don't know why but his voice made me feel weak and I couldn't control my increasing heartbeat. I'm not the one to cower away but his presence made me feel dominated. And that's the thing which I do not like the most.

I hate when someone controls me and made me feel inferior. I was battling with my inner thoughts when I felt his hand gripped on my shoulders and that made me furious. I put all my force into pushing his hands away and then I slapped him hard on his right cheek.

He was taken off guard and stumbled a little but managed to control his footing. I took that time to walk to the bed but he blocked my way. He was about to vent out his anger when the heart monitor started to beeped startling us.

We both look at the heart monitor on the right to the bed and I hurried to the bed to check out the patient who had oxygen masked and different machines attached to his body.

"Fuck." I heard him mutter and he too hurried towards the bed looking panicked.

"What happened?" The man shouted making me gave a sharp glare at him and I continued checking out the patient's heartbeat.

His heartbeat was rising irregularly so I performed CPR and tried my best to save him. I don't know why his condition worsened when everything was normal when we had placed him in the ICU and it was fortunate of the nurse to have reminded me of him. Otherwise, I couldn't imagine what would've happened to him.

Shaub's POV:

"Mr.Reghen." Nate, my secretary calls sounding quite nervous.

"Yes." I responded going through the details of the projects for the last time.

I'm currently riding the black Maybach with my secretary driving us to the Villejoya hotel for the business meeting. It's been a week since I have arrived here in London and this is the last meeting which is very important for our company.

"Mr. Pengon called saying he would join you for the party. He had better work to do than join-" Before Nate could finish the sentence, I cut him off closing the laptop with a thud.

"When did he called?" I asked taking out the mobile from my suit pocket and scrolled through the call log.

"10 minutes ago, when you were scolding the security at the parking lot of the company." He croaked out giving me a glance from the rearview mirror at the front.

I nodded tapping on the Len profile to give him a call. Lenard Pengon is my best friend since we're in a diaper and he is the best bud I've till now. It may sound girly but we guys too have a friend with whom we share our problems and are close to our heart. But that damn brat had left me alone to deal with the devil.

Pengon and Reghen are the two powerful families who are also business associates and they have existed in harmony since the 80's. Our great grandparents, grandparents, father, and the ongoing generation are the best buddies.

The call went on but that good friend of mine didn't receive my call. I tried the second time and it goes to his voice mail. I huff locking my mobile and opened my laptop to check out some important files.

"Sir. Do you need me to call Mr. Pengon?" Nate asked after few minutes of silence but I ignored him declining his offer.

The drive to the hotel took almost an hour and Manager Lee came to receive us at the entrance.

"Welcome, Mr. Reghen." Manager Lee greeted me with pleasantry and I nodded handing my mobile to Nate.

"This way please." Manager Lee gave a polite smile and guided us inside.

Nate walked alongside me with Manager Lee in front of us and we rode the elevator to the 52nd floor reaching the conference hall. I glanced at my Rolex watch and smirked when I saw it's exactly 2 pm.

"We are here Mr. Reghen." Manager Lee informed opening the conference hall door and I entered with Nate trailing behind me.

The meeting then started and the whole time I received the hunger gaze from Ms. Brooks who was seated across me. I gave a blind eye to her useless attempt to seduce me as I do not mingle flings with the business and finally the deal was finalized. David Brooks, the devil who is the most infuriating old man to deal with was satisfied with our proposal and signed the deal for 10 years of collaboration.

"Congratulations, Mr. Reghen." David Brooks sounded forwarding his hand towards me.

"Thank you, Mr. Brooks. And congrats to you too." I said getting up from my seat and shook his hands.

David Brooks handed off the contract to his assistance and the meeting was wrapped up. We then rode the elevator to the hotel lobby and I bid farewell to my new partner but someone was not interested to say goodbye.

"Dad! Can we invite Mr. Reghen for a dinner?" Cassie Brooks the youngest daughter of Mr. Brooks purred giving puppy eyes to her daddy.

"Sure hun, why not? Mr. Reghen?" The devil looked at me as if he would dissolve our contract once I decline the offer but I'm also the Reghen to whom no one dare to order.

"I would love to but there is a small problem." I made eye contact with Nate who was standing beside me and he nodded in understanding.

"What problem?" Cassie pouted feeling wronged and I inwardly cringed seeing her poor acting.

"Mr. Reghen needed to attend a party. His frien-'' Nate was interrupted by Cassie's squeal whose eyes glisten as if she had got her favorite candy.

"Party? Oh! I love to attend one. Daddy! Can I go and accompany Shaub?" Cassie came to her dad's side and hold his arm like a spoilt brat.

David Brooks gave a warm smile to his daughter and I nodded signaling Nate to take Cassie's number. After that, I strode out of the lobby and Nate drove back to the apartment I own in London. I then became busy with checking out some paper works and at 6 pm walk out of the study room heading to my bedroom.

I strode towards the washroom to take a shower and get dressed in a navy blue Armani suit as the party was for the business association. I then texted Cassie stating I'm on the way and then went to the parking lot of the apartment where a red Ferrari was parked.

I hopped inside driving to the Brooks Mansion and when I reached there the devil was waiting beside his daughter at the entrance. I walk out of the car and greeted the devil who just nodded telling me to take good care of his daughter.

"Shall we?" I forwarded my right hand towards Cassie and she beamed placing her hand on mine.

I nodded at the devil walking to the other side of the car and opened the door for Cassie to hop inside. Then I too hop in the driver's seat and fasten my seat belt.

"Bye daddy." Cassie wave when I ignited the engine and we drove to the Night-tale club.

The whole ride Cassie talk nonstop about everything and anything she could think of and I just nodded forcing a smile. If not for that devil and the contract then I would've thrown this woman out of my car the second she had opened her irritating mouth.

Finally, after 10 minutes I halted the car at the VIP entrance and Nate opened the door for Cassie. I pass the keys to the chauffer to parked the car and headed inside with Cassie's arm wrapped on my left arm.

"Mr. Pengon has just arrived. Others are waiting for you." Nate informed while walking beside me and I nodded entering the VIP room.

"Shaub! You are late man." Dylan one of the business associates complained holding the glass of wine and I smirked walking towards the center of the room where the 4 gentlemen were seated among them my best buddy Len had a sly smirk on his face.

"Oh! You were busy with the girl." Troy smirked glancing at Cassie and I chuckled taking the seat with Cassie beside me.

"Everyone meet Cassie Brooks, daughter of David Brooks." I ignored the naughty looks others were giving and take the drink Nate handed to me.

Then a ringtone resounded and I took out my mobile to accept the call. It was from Ryan, the bodyguard of my grandfather.

"Sir. Master had an accident on the way to the Reghen Empire. We're heading out to Nigel Hospital." Ryan sounded worried and I could hear sirens and the sound of a chopper from the other line.

"How?" I roared dropping the wine glass I was holding on the floor and I could see Cassie startled with my sudden outburst.

"Master told us to visit the Reghen Empire early in the morning and he rode the Mercedes while we were following behind. And his car got out of control and crashed the against garbage truck. Ben died on the spot while saving Master. I-I couldn't protect him well. I-" Ryan was feeling guilty but I know he can do nothing about it.

"Stop sounding sorry Ryan. I need you now to protect him well. Call Dr. Dakels to treat him and tighten the security." We still do not know if the accident was incidental or not so we couldn't take the risk now.

Enemies are lurking behind everywhere in the business world and being a powerful family with only an heir left they are many accidents possible. I had a few shares of mine and we couldn't take this lightly as it could be one of the threats.

"Nate! I need you to call the airport to ready my jet. We are flying back." I ordered Nate to walk towards the exit and didn't bother to explain.

"Shaub! I'm coming too." I heard Len coming after me and when we reached the front a black BMW was waiting for us.

I hopped inside along with Len and then the drive ignited the engine driving to the airport. I open my mobile and call the one person who might help me get the information that I needed.

The ring goes for a few seconds and the call was received. "I need you to investigate on the accident that happened near the Kolaem street at 9 am. I need all the details and you know what you need to do after that?"

"Roger boss." The other party replied and I ended the call dialing Ryan's number.

But that damn man was not picking up my call and that flare up my temper. I was trying to suppress the depressed feeling but I felt terrible when Ryan voice rang in my mind. That old man's health had not been good recently and now he got into an accident.

"Fuck." I cursed touching the call button to call Ryan.

"Shaub! Calm down. He will be alright." Len tried to pacify but I was out of control like a mad beast.

"Don't tell me to calm down Len. You do not know how fucked up I'm feeling. He is the only blood relative I have left." I lashed out fuming with anger.

"You say as if he is no one to me, Shaub. His also my grandfather even though not blood-related. I'm too worried Shaub but I'm not losing my composer as you are." Len sounded hurt yet he still managed to give a small smile. "He is the Master Reghen and he hasn't got to see his great-grandson yet so the old man will be okay."

Len words put some sense in me but I was still anxious to know about the situation. My grandfather is the one who had brought me up when my father died and I can't lose him too.

Suddenly, my mobile started ringing and the caller was Nate. I left Nate back at the club to send Cassie home and to deal with my business associative. "Sir. The flight couldn't be procced..."

I grunted hearing it and he continued further. "The hail storm is surging. It would take few hours to subside. And I've to drop Ms. Brooks home. Others are back at the club."

"Sir. We're here." The driver informed when the car came to halt inside the airport and Len nodded getting out of the car.

I ended the call saying ok and clenched my fist gripping my mobile tightly after locking it. I then get out of the car and walked towards the seating area. Then my mobile rang up again and I immediately accepted the call.

"Ryan! Why weren't you picking up my call? Have you reached the hospital?" I inquired getting impatient.

"We are in the hospital but Dr. Dakels..." He paused making me irritated and I could hear voices from the other side.

"Speak up Ryan. What about him?" I probed to know more.

"He is in Germany for the conference. Willi is demanding to call him but they are saying it would take time and he..." Ryan sounded guilty and he didn't continue further. And he didn't need to as I understood the meaning behind his silence.

"What about his condition? Get Willi on line for me." I demanded pacing around the seating area trying to calm my anxiety.

"He is severely injured. There is-" I heard Willi's voice but he too paused mid-sentence making me shout at him. Then I heard a woman voice talking about immediate operation otherwise the patient might lose his life.

That sentence made me felt lost and before I could collect myself, I heard the same woman voice for the last time before the call was cut off again. "The patient is in his worst condition so pray for his well-being."

Her voice sounded stern yet it made me have hope for the well-being of my grandfather and stir something inside me.
